Locally heavy showers and thunderstorms.

There were some areas with extremely high rainfall totals overnight. This was not a surprise. We expected some big totals from slow-moving thunderstorms.

Unsettled weather.

An unsettled weather pattern is expected to develop today and persist into Friday evening. Then, it will shift southward on Saturday and Sunday. How far south remains the biggest question.

Increasing rain chances. Mild.

We are still experiencing haze in the region due to the massive Canadian wildfires.

The haze you saw in the sky was caused by the massive Canadian wildfires. The smoke traveled southward into our region.

Warming trend.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms moved across the region last night. We did have a low-end severe weather risk, but no warnings were issued.

Another chance of thunderstorms. It will be warmer this weekend and next week.

This system has slowly been ramping up. A few days ago, it did not look like a significant system. With time, however, it has trended stronger.

More rain chances. Much warmer this weekend.

We did have some showers move through the region overnight. A few of those are lingering on radar, as of 5 am.

Isolated shower chances today.

I'm unsure how to evaluate/grade the forecast. Many areas received some rain, but the coverage and totals were less than anticipated for most.
